Final Try Out
“The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple” said Oscar Wilde and such was the case for the agonizing decision between the final two candidates at the Team Clendenan try out call back.
Each applicant put on a shoot out show to be proud of and to make things even more challenging, every aspect of the dynamic categories were dead even. The results of the battle were so close that the girls were undecided, the coach was undecided and an impartial judge was also uncomfortable making a call one way or the other. In the end, the tiebreaker came down to a difference of birthdays which tipped the scales in Rebecca’s favour but the truth was that there was only one position and two amazing players which was bitter sweet.
Breathing a sigh of relief with a decision made, the foursome of thirteen year olds – Emma, Grace, Michaela and Rebecca – officially declared their intention to give it their all in the upcoming season and smiles snuck out with the optimism of what lay ahead.
Chins up ladies and onward to team building and preparing for the marathon on the OJCT!
